RICHARD MASCHERIN (1992)

DIRECTOR, CHOREOGRAPHER AND DANCER.

Canarian creator focused on contemporary performing arts and audiovisuals. Graduated in Madrid in Contemporary Dance (Mariemma Royal Professional Dance Conservatory). Degree in General Film Direction (Metrópolis School of Film and Theater) and Degree in Film and TV Stunt (Ángel Plana Stunt School of Madrid) officially accredited by the International Stunts Academy of Moscow (I.S.A.).

He has had stage work with companies such as Sharon Fridman in the plays Free Fall, Hasta dónde...? and AllWays (2015-2019) or La Veronal in Pasionaria (2019-2022), among others. In some ways, the fall has been present in both his career as a performer and as a creator since 2015.

He currently directs his project that branches into different forms and scenic proposals in which the inevitability of the fall is the fundamental concept of his research and creation. The project investigates and links different media: dance, performance, video and photography. His pieces include He aquí un acto romántico (Behold a romantic act) , CAER, CAER, CAER (FALL, FALL, FALL), and Vacío Espiritual (Spiritual Void).

CAER, CAER, CAER has received the second prize for best only for the Masdanza International Competition, and also received other awards such as artistic residencies and programming in Bulgaria, the Canary Islands, Hong Kong and Macau. On the other hand, the piece Vacío Espiritual is a show recommended by Red Escena and is part of the Danza a Escena 2024 catalogue.

His short film HE aquí un cuerpo que cae, co-directed with visual artist Sam Fuentes, has been presented in art spaces and film festivals such as Trastevere Cosmo (Italy), Espacio Cultural El Tanque (Tenerife), Dock Of The Bay Documentary Film Festival Musical (San Sebastián), Márgenes Madrid International Film Festival, NF Galería (Madrid), among others.
